The South Madison Community Event Calendar was created to help keep our small towns strong, even as we grow. The Community Event Calendar is managed by the South Madison Community Foundation as a tool to support nonprofit and community organizations in their efforts to create a more vibrant and connected community.
Hoots and Howls Weekend, Mounds State Park

Ready for Halloween Mounds State Park style? Join us October 18 to October 20 for Mounds Hoots and Howls Weekend. We will have a variety of night hikes available on Friday night (weather permitting). On Saturday, the Historic Halloween Festival explores the origins of Halloween traditions while celebrating “nostalgic” Halloween with games, pumpkin decorating, applebobbing, and of course…candy! There will be a costume contest parade where you can strut your spookiness around the park. Prizes will be awarded! Camping with us this weekend? Participate in the Campsite Decorating contest for prizes and bragging rights. Finish off your weekend on Sunday with a spooky themed program. More details will be announced as the event approached.
