The South Madison Community Event Calendar was created to help keep our small towns strong, even as we grow. The Community Event Calendar is managed by the South Madison Community Foundation as a tool to support nonprofit and community organizations in their efforts to create a more vibrant and connected community.

The whole town turns out to cheer on the hometown team for the Homecoming parade. Wear green, plan to collect a full bag of candy and wave to everyone you know. Follow the parade to PHHS, enjoy a K-burger and (hopefully) an Arabian win.

Participation open to any artist registering between 9:00 AM and 10:00 AM. Up to three canvases and paper to be used in the competition must be stamped on registration. Once registered the participants will select the location and subject they would like to memorialize.
Painters are responsible for bringing their own equipment and supplies. Photographers must demonstrate that their SD Cards have no images. Photographers will be provided with two sheets of 11 x 14 photograph paper along with access to a printer using USB or SD input. Photographers should bring their own computer to edit photos.
Art created the day of the event will then be displayed in the Red Barn and judged. Winners will be announced following Judging. Art will not be required to be framed for the judging. Framing and Matting is optional, participant must bring their own supplies. Those using canvases please refrain from painting on the sides of the canvas.
There will be an entry fee of $25.00 and will allow the participant to submit up to 2 pieces for judging. Prizes will be awarded as follows: Best of Competition $100.00, Second Place $75.00 and Third Place $50.00. No more than one prize may be awarded to the same participant.
There will be a 30% commission on art sold the day of competition. All art sales are to be processed through the Pendleton Artists Society.
You're invited to meet the cutest, grumpiest bear from Ryan T. Higgins' "Mother Bruce" picture book series -- in person! He will be available for photos in the Children's section.

Green Township Community Park is a 40 acre park with 3 miles of trails. Also available: 10 primitive campsites, 5 camper hookups, and 3 pavilions available to rent from May 1st until October 31st.

"The Game Corner" features a friendly video game tournament for teens in grades 6-12. Recent game selections include Nintendo Switch Sports, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, TowerFall, and Rocket League.
