Gobble Wobble 5K for Lapel Food Pantry

Welcome to the Gobble Wobble 5k Tenth Anniversary Edition!
This will be our tenth year of hosting the Gobble Wobble 5k fundraiser for the Lapel Food Pantry.

With your support we've raised over $26,000 for the pantry and over 500lbs of direct food donations.

Gobble Wobble registration is currently open for our 2023 Race Day!

Join us this year for our biggest fundraiser at the YMCA. All registration proceeds benefit the YMCA of Madison County Annual Campaign, which provides scholarships to kids and families in need.

The Gobble Wobble is the perfect way to kick-start your family's Thanksgiving Day activities! Each participant will receive a dry wick shirt of their size of choice, a race bib, and a grab bag from our
sponsors if signed up before the T-shirt deadline of November 5th.

Board and Commission Open House

People interested in serving the best interest of their town on a town board or commission are invited to attend an informational meeting to learn about openings and meet staff and elected officials. Openings are expected on the Board of Zoning Appeals, Park and Recreation Board, Plan Commission, Historic Preservation Commission, Redevelopment Commission, Redevelopment Authority, Utility Rate Advisory Board, Board of Stormwater Management, Waterworks Board, Impact Fee Review Board, and Fall Creek Regional Waste. Terms vary between one and four years.

Read Me a Story is a traditional library storytime in the shade of the Lapel Branch greenspace.

Read Me a Story is a less noisy program with individual play, so it has a TURTLE sensory and activity level: low noise with focused, calm activity.

This program emphasizes the early literacy activities of READ, PLAY, SING, TALK, and WRITE which are essential habits for getting ready to read, as determined by the American Library Association's Every Child Ready to Read program.
