Bicentennial Birthday Bonanza: a bicentennial “signature event” will occur with a county-wide community “birthday bash” in downtown Anderson. The event will feature entertainment, food and other refreshments, fun activities for kids and families, and displays about Madison County’s history. It will be preceded on the same day with a community gospel and spiritual music concert at the Paramount Theatre. All churches in the county will be invited to participate.

Explore local history on display at the free museum next to the Falls. Relax on the porch and strike up a conversation with one of the volunteer docents.

Drop in for an evening of video and tabletop gaming! We'll have party games like Super Smash Brothers and Mario Kart on the Nintendo Switch, Beatsaber on the Oculus Quest, and classics like Apples to Apples, Jenga, and Uno. For teens in grades 6-12 only, please.

Candlelight yoga is the perfect way to end your day. A gentle flow class focuses on breathing and light stretching. We will have some mats and props available for use. Please plan to stay with us post-yoga for some herbal tea and conversation. Space is limited to 18 on a first-come, first-served basis.

Mark your calendar for Kids' Game Day at Gathering Grounds for a fun -filled hour of outside games for kids 2-8. In the event of rain, we will meet in the gym. Come have a last hurrah before school starts!

A friendly video game tournament occurs each Wednesday in the teen room. The winner of each week's tournament picks the following week's game. Everyone age 12-18 is welcome to attend. No registration required.

The consistent practice of mindful meditation will support an ever-increasing facility for living mindfully. Sessions are open to the community, free of charge, led by a certified instructor. All experience levels welcome!

Read Me a Story is a traditional library storytime in the shade of the Lapel Branch greenspace.

Read Me a Story is a less noisy program with individual play, so it has a TURTLE sensory and activity level: low noise with focused, calm activity.

This program emphasizes the early literacy activities of READ, PLAY, SING, TALK, and WRITE which are essential habits for getting ready to read, as determined by the American Library Association's Every Child Ready to Read program.
