The South Madison Community Event Calendar was created to help keep our small towns strong, even as we grow. The Community Event Calendar is managed by the South Madison Community Foundation as a tool to support nonprofit and community organizations in their efforts to create a more vibrant and connected community.
Explore local history on display at the free museum next to the Falls. Relax on the porch and strike up a conversation with one of the volunteer docents.
Participants will make two copper roses. They will cut out pieces with metal shears, brazing and forming. These may be colored with flame or textured with a patina. Study Hall is a monthly writing group workshop for adults to discover or rediscover their passion for the written word. Come listen, write, learn, and explore in a supportive and open environment. We will use writing prompts to get started, but feel free to bring anything you are currently working on and want to share. The hour can also be used as a quiet, inclusive place to free-write.

Rodgers and Hammerstein’s enchanting adaptation of the timeless fairytale, Cinderella, was their only musical originally composed for television. When the television program, starring Julie Andrews as Cinderella, first aired in 1957, it was the most widely viewed program in the history of the medium at that time. Since then, Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella has continued to charm audiences in productions on stage and on television. Based upon the classic fairy tale, and particularly the French version Cendrillon ou la Petite Pantoufle de Verre, Rodgers and Hammerstein’s adaptation brings new life to the story of a young woman forced into servitude who dreams of – and achieves – a better life. Cinderella features some of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s most beloved songs, including “In My Own Little Corner,” “Impossible,” and “Ten Minutes Ago.”
No admission charge. Refreshments are available. Bring your own lawn chairs and shade umbrella if desired.
We will be watching the first movie of the Harry Potter series in the Maple Room. Snacks provided.
Teens and kids - Bring your folders, binders, and planners to decorate in the Maple Room! Stickers, washi tape, markers, highlighters, and snacks provided. Drop in program, no registration required.
A friendly video game tournament occurs each Wednesday in the teen room. The winner of each week's tournament picks the following week's game. Everyone age 12-18 is welcome to attend. No registration required.
