The Community Event Calendar is managed by the South Madison Community Foundation as a tool to support nonprofit and community organizations in their efforts to create a more vibrant and connected community.

Join your Friends of Falls Park for a Spring Spruce Up of the park to help usher in the busy outdoor season. Wear gloves and sturdy shoes so you can fan out over the park to collect litter and tidy up. Check in near the community building/museum. All ages and abilities are welcome to take part!
Vendors, music, food trucks, 50/50 raffle, and more! Free eclipse glasses while supplies last. Vendor inquiries welcome!

Saturday, April 6th from-11 AM-4PM: Joining with the Ingalls block party and celebration 100 years in the current church building. History of the church with cake and punch; Games for the kids; tables for Brianna’s Hope, Ingalls Men’s group (to kick off soon), Ingalls’ activities, and Eclipse safety with free glasses.
Paint a unique still-life composed of fresh fruits and vegetables. The instruction will focus on practicing tried and true drawing skills, learning watercolor and clayboard processes, color mixing, choosing a compositional strategy using handmade watercolors arranged in a Spectral Palette. Instructed on how to navigate a powerful 6 color Palette to create vibrant color spaces
Hear County Historican Stephen Jackson's presentation on Madison County's natural history and the beginning of local cultural history of the earthworks along White River at Mounds State Park.
“View the Great American Eclipse at Mounds State Park! Members of the Muncie Astronomy Club will be present at the Woodland Shelter with telescopes and other equipment to help visitors understand the Eclipse and have a unique view.
Take a guided hike to the 2,000-yearold Native American earthworks and learn about how the ancient peoples who built them understood the sky.
A food truck will be available onsite.
Come early, as the park will close when it fills to capacity.
Watch the total eclipse in the wide open spaces of Markleville Town Park. Bring chairs and blankets and enjoy musical entertainment, free bounce house and kids games while you wait for the big moment. Vendor booths and concessions will be accepted. Madison County Health Department first aid will be on site.
$10 admission per car includes up to six pair of free viewing glasses. Event T-Shirts available, $15. Vendors only $10.
All proceeds go to help complete the new park community building!
Stephen T. Jackson will present "Three Lives Well Lived" a 16 part series based on his book "If the River Could Talk, Stories of the White River in Madison County". This 16 part series is being touted as part of the America 250 Celebration.
