The Community Event Calendar is managed by the South Madison Community Foundation as a tool to support nonprofit and community organizations in their efforts to create a more vibrant and connected community.

Total Eclipse at Mounds State Park

“View the Great American Eclipse at Mounds State Park! Members of the Muncie Astronomy Club will be present at the Woodland Shelter with telescopes and other equipment to help visitors understand the Eclipse and have a unique view.

Take a guided hike to the 2,000-yearold Native American earthworks and learn about how the ancient peoples who built them understood the sky.

A food truck will be available onsite.

Come early, as the park will close when it fills to capacity.

Total Eclipse Watch Party

Markleville Town Park 2649 E. State Road 38, Markleville, Indiana

Watch the total eclipse in the wide open spaces of Markleville Town Park. Bring chairs and blankets and enjoy musical entertainment, free bounce house and kids games while you wait for the big moment. Vendor booths and concessions will be accepted. Madison County Health Department first aid will be on site.

$10 admission per car includes up to six pair of free viewing glasses. Event T-Shirts available, $15. Vendors only $10.

All proceeds go to help complete the new park community building!
