Read Me a Story is a traditional library storytime in the shade of the Lapel Branch greenspace.
Read Me a Story is a less noisy program with individual play, so it has a TURTLE sensory and activity level: low noise with focused, calm activity.
This program emphasizes the early literacy activities of READ, PLAY, SING, TALK, and WRITE which are essential habits for getting ready to read, as determined by the American Library Association's Every Child Ready to Read program.

The menu will include all-you-can-eat fish or hand-breaded tenderloin, sides, one dessert and drink.
Advance tickets are $12 for adults and $13 day of event; children, $5 for ages 6-11 and children under five, eat free. Carry-out meals will also be available.

Join us for Family Fall Fest September 24, from 10:30AM-3:00PM. This is a family-friendly and fun event for the whole community. Already, we have a ton of exciting things planned like a performance from the Peru circus, a mini car show, a variety of food trucks, and so much more.
The Lions Club Fishing Derby is scheduled for Sunday Sept. 24th at the pond at Falls Park. There will be two age divisions for this free event. Anyone in these age groups are welcome to fish.
Ages 2 through 8 will sign up from 1:00-130 pm. Fishing time will be 1:30-2:30 pm
Ages 9-13 will sign up from 2:30-3:00 pm.
Fishing time for this group will be from 3:00-4:00
We will have trophies. The number of fish caught per child as well as the length of each fish are recorded. Trophies are awarded for largest fish and most fish caught. There will also be a raffle for each group.
There is no cost to fish and no fishing license is needed for the children. The Lions Club will stock the pond as done every year. Bring your own bait and poles, but we will have extra if you need them.
