Read Me a Story
Lapel Branch Library 610 Main St., Lapel, IndianaRead Me a Story is a traditional library storytime in the shade of the Lapel Branch greenspace.
Read Me a Story is a less noisy program with individual play, so it has a TURTLE sensory and activity level: low noise with focused, calm activity.
This program emphasizes the early literacy activities of READ, PLAY, SING, TALK, and WRITE which are essential habits for getting ready to read, as determined by the American Library Association's Every Child Ready to Read program.
Grand Finale: Madison County Bicentennial
Paramount Theatre 1124 Meridian St, Anderson, IN 46016, Anderson, IndianaThe Grand Finale of the Madison County Bicentennial year celebrations marks the to-the-day anniversary of the county's formation.
Music performances by the Rock Bottom Boys and Austin Morgan will be featured and a special documentary on the contributions of the Black community to Madison County history will highlight the event. Guest speakers include Madison County Historian Stephen Jackson, the mayors of Madison County's three cities, and a representative of the Madison County Commissioner's office. Highlights of the bicentennial year will be shown. The event is free and open to the public.
