The Community Event Calendar is managed by the South Madison Community Foundation as a tool to support nonprofit and community organizations in their efforts to create a more vibrant and connected community.

Lords of the Dance with guest conductor Todd Craven

Guest Conductor Todd Craven, currently Music Director/Conductor of the NW Florida Symphony Orchestra and Artistic Director of the Orlando Contemporary Chamber Orchestra, conducts an array of dance-inspired music from around the world! Violinist Leila Warren joins the orchestra in the dazzling “Carmen Fantasy for Violin,” and a selection of popular dance-themed works from Hungary to Argentina showcases the immense talent of the Anderson Symphony Orchestra!

Run The Mounds 2024: 5 Mile, 5K Run or Walk

Mounds State Park 4306 Mounds Road, Anderson, IN 46017, Anderson, Indiana

Enjoy a scenic trail run through Mounds State Park, along the river and by the ancient Adena Indian Mounds. You can choose a 5MI run, 5K run, or a 5K walk. A children's fun run will meet at 1:20 PM by the pool house; the fun run will start at 1:30 PM.
Race Entries are capped at a limit to allow for the best race experience. Register now to ensure your place!

FAFSA Information Session

Join us for a chance to learn about the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)! Topics covered will be FAFSA basics, what information is needed to fill out the FAFSA, and why filling out the FAFSA is important. Resources will be shared to help students and their families complete the FAFSA.
Our presenter is Elizabeth Moffett, an Outreach Coordinator for the Indiana Commission for Higher Education.

The program is free and open to the public. A library card is never required to visit or attend programs at the library.

Activities to achieve our mission:
We are the founders of the Village Fair. We work each year to organize and host our town’s most anticipated annual event.
Proceeds of the Lapel Village Fair and Indiana State Fair Dairy Barn have been used in the following:
Installation of 58 street lights on Lapel's Main Street.
American and Bulldog flags and Christmas decorations on the street lights.
We provide donations to:

If interested in joining the Lapel Community Association, meetings are usually the first Wednesday of the month at Lapel Stony Creek Fire Department. We are dark the months of December, January and February.

The Game Corner

A friendly video game tournament for teens in grades 6 through 12. Recent game selections include Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Tekken 8, and Gang Beasts.

The winner of the tournament chooses the next edition's game.

Snacks and refreshments are provided. No registration is required.
