The Community Event Calendar is managed by the South Madison Community Foundation as a tool to support nonprofit and community organizations in their efforts to create a more vibrant and connected community.

Friends of the Library Book Sale

Bargain books, games, magazines, etc. with proceeds going back to support library programs. On the last day, fill a bag for $1!

Make Baklava like a Greek Yia Yia

Inaugural Gallery 119 Lunch and Learn Series.
Join restaurateur Teddi Mangas-Coon on (October 19th) (noon to 2) in the Gallery 119 kitchen to make your own pan of Greek Baklava! Perfect to freeze to share during the holidays!

We will each make a small pan of Baklava using 60 layers of filo dough, walnuts, pecans, plenty of butter, sugar and honey. All supplies will be provided. OPA!

While baking, bring a bagged lunch to enjoy. Coffee and water will be provided.

Class is limited to 10 people and plan to go for 2 hours together.

Pendleton Artists Society Gallery 119 119 W State Street, Pendleton

Participants will join restaurateur Teddi Mangas-Coon in the kitchen at Gallery 119 to learn to "Make Baklava like a Greek Yia Yia". Participants will bake a small pan of baklava using 60 layers of filo dough, walnuts, pecans, butter, sugar and honey. All supplies will be provided. While baking, bring a bag lunch to enjoy. Coffee and water will be provided. Cost is $30. Class is limited to 10 people.

Proceeds from the event will support Friends for Paws, making this a chance to admire stunning homes and give back to a worthy cause.

Community Screening: Where Black Excellence Resides in Madison County

Volunteers must:
Be 18 years or older to register OR have a guardian sign agreement below.
Bring a vehicle no later than 4:30pm to the Sports Complex
Decorate your trunk
Supply your own candy and/or give-away and hand them out throughout the duration of the event. Please bring enough to hand out to at least 500-1000 children. This event sees around 3000 people.
If you and a friend/spouse want to both bring a vehicle, each vehicle owner must register separately, but you may request that you are parked next to each other.
