The South Madison Community Event Calendar was created to help keep our small towns strong, even as we grow. The Community Event Calendar is managed by the South Madison Community Foundation as a tool to support nonprofit and community organizations in their efforts to create a more vibrant and connected community.

Join us for an hour of stories and fun at Gathering Grounds Coffee Shop in Lapel. Enjoy stories, songs, finger-plays, and rhymes. Strengthen early literacy skills and encourage the joy of learning. Each program ends with a fun craft or activity!
"The Game Corner" features a friendly video game tournament for teens in grades 6-12. Recent game selections include Nintendo Switch Sports, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, TowerFall, and Rocket League.

Read Me a Story is a less noisy program with individual play, so it has a TURTLE sensory and activity level: low noise with focused, calm activity.
This program emphasizes the early literacy activities of READ, PLAY, SING, TALK, and WRITE which are essential habits for getting ready to read, as determined by the American Library Association's Every Child Ready to Read program.

Advance tickets are $12 for adults and $13 day of event; children, $5 for ages 6-11 and children under five, eat free. Carry-out meals will also be available.
