The South Madison Community Event Calendar was created to help keep our small towns strong, even as we grow. The Community Event Calendar is managed by the South Madison Community Foundation as a tool to support nonprofit and community organizations in their efforts to create a more vibrant and connected community.

Meet the Naturalist at the old Pool House parking lot for this brief program to learn about North America's only true flying mammal. As the sun sets, we will look for emerging bats flying through the dusk sky. Program lasts one hour and is family-friendly.
Explore local history on display at the free museum next to the Falls. Relax on the porch and strike up a conversation with one of the volunteer docents.
Biweekly farmers market runs through October.
Stephen T. Jackson will present "Our First Ladies - Part 1" a 16 part series based on his book "If the River Could Talk, Stories of the White River in Madison County". This 16 part series is being touted as part of the America 250 Celebration.
Candlelight yoga will use a gentle, flow style class that focuses on breathing and light stretching. It is the perfect way to end your day and wind down before bed.

If interested in joining the Lapel Community Association, meetings are usually the first Wednesday of the month at Lapel Stony Creek Fire Department. We are dark the months of December, January and February.
Hang out at Lapel Library every 1st and 3rd Wednesday after school for games, movies, STEM, and art activities! Watch anime, build with legos, play video games, program robots, complete crafts, and much much more. Each week will be something a bit different.
Each Fall, the Spring Valley Quilt Guild takes over the Pendleton Historical Museum for one long weekend. See gorgeous quilts, purchase quilting fabric, hear from quilt guild members, and vote for best in show!
Read Me a Story is a traditional library storytime in the Children's area.
Read Me a Story is a less noisy program with individual play, so it has a TURTLE sensory and activity level: low noise with focused, calm activity.
This program emphasizes the early literacy activities of READ, PLAY, SING, TALK, and WRITE which are essential habits for getting ready to read, as determined by the American Library Association's 'Every Child Ready to Read' program.
