The South Madison Community Event Calendar was created to help keep our small towns strong, even as we grow. Heavy trash drop off is intended for residents' bulky, broken down household items. Please do not bring hazardous materials of any kind (including batteries), electronics (TVs, computers, etc), paint, or tires. Call Town staff with questions - they can help you find appropriate locations for items not accepted during Heavy Trash Drop Off.
Story Time is aimed for children age 0-6. Come visit for snacks, songs, crafts, and playtime!
Join Sheree for a moderate hike on the Red Loop to look for spring ephemera. Learn some names and stories of our native wildflowers. Before the hike, we’ll spend 15 minutes going through your collections of native wildflower seeds if you want to swap or share. Make sure they are labeled with harvest date and species name. Meet inside the Community Building. 1.5 hours
Read Me a Story is a traditional library storytime in the Children's area.
Read Me a Story is a less noisy program with individual play, so it has a TURTLE sensory and activity level: low noise with focused, calm activity.
This program emphasizes the early literacy activities of READ, PLAY, SING, TALK, and WRITE which are essential habits for getting ready to read, as determined by the American Library Association's Every Child Ready to Read program.
