The Community Event Calendar is managed by the South Madison Community Foundation as a tool to support nonprofit and community organizations in their efforts to create a more vibrant and connected community.

Farm to Table Cooking

Frankton Community Library History Series

Stephen T. Jackson will present "Our First Ladies-Part 2" a 16 part series based on his book "If the River Could Talk, Stories of the White River in Madison County". This 16 part series is being touted as part of the America 250 Celebration.

Activities to achieve our mission:
We are the founders of the Village Fair. We work each year to organize and host our town’s most anticipated annual event.
Proceeds of the Lapel Village Fair and Indiana State Fair Dairy Barn have been used in the following:
Installation of 58 street lights on Lapel's Main Street.
American and Bulldog flags and Christmas decorations on the street lights.
We provide donations to:

Dolly Parton Imagination Library
Fire Department
Police Department
Veterans Gazebo
Bench at Post Office
Trash bins on Main Street
Flowers along Main Street
Donated clothing to LES clinic

If interested in joining the Lapel Community Association, meetings are usually the first Wednesday of the month at Lapel Stony Creek Fire Department. We are dark the months of December, January and February.

Community Technology Recycle Day

Flagship Enterprise 2705 Enterprise Drive, Anderson, Indiana

Drop off your old electronic and technology items for free, environmentally friendly recycling. This opportunity is open to business and consumers alike.
We can also perform secure data destruction on your old equipment for you for a small fee per device.
There is a fee for any size TVs or monitors: $20 each. Payments can be made by cash or credit card.

Community Night/Community Dinner

Breast Cancer Awareness Walk, Health Fair, and Brunch

Anderson Impact Center 630 Nichol Ave, Anderson, Indiana

We are thrilled to invite you to our Breast Cancer Awareness Event on October 5th from 9 am to 12 pm at the Anderson Impact Center. This event is an opportunity for our community to come together and show support for those whose lives were affected by breast cancer.

The event will begin with a Breast Cancer Awareness Walk. We encourage you to invite others from your organization to join us in walking to demonstrate the importance of this cause.

If you want a long-sleeved awareness shirt, please submit your $20 payment by September 27th to the Minority Health Office.

After the walk, you'll have the chance to showcase your services and products to a diverse group of attendees and network with other like-minded individuals.

We will also host a brunch featuring Anderson's Highland High School Tennis Star, Ashlee Davis-Brooks, who will share her impactful story and journey in the fight against breast cancer.

During the brunch we will recognize Breast Cancer Survivors. Please share any breast cancer survivor photos of yourself or a loved one, as we want to honor you.
