The South Madison Community Event Calendar was created to help keep our small towns strong, even as we grow. The Community Event Calendar is managed by the South Madison Community Foundation as a tool to support nonprofit and community organizations in their efforts to create a more vibrant and connected community.

It's a town-wide candy party, and you're invited. Don't miss the fire station and the historic center of it all along the brick street of Broadway in the Pendleton Historic District.

Vendors gather for the 2024 Holiday Bazaar!
The 24th annual Keith Trent's Coats of Caring distribution is scheduled for Saturday, November 2, from 10am-1pm at Anderson High School, 4610 Madison Avenue. Coats of Caring offers a FREE winter coat to Madison County residents who need one. For safety reasons, attendees must remain in their vehicles at all times at this drive-thru event. You must be present at the event to receive a coat.

Guest Conductor Todd Craven, currently Music Director/Conductor of the NW Florida Symphony Orchestra and Artistic Director of the Orlando Contemporary Chamber Orchestra, conducts an array of dance-inspired music from around the world! Violinist Leila Warren joins the orchestra in the dazzling “Carmen Fantasy for Violin,” and a selection of popular dance-themed works from Hungary to Argentina showcases the immense talent of the Anderson Symphony Orchestra!
Stephen T. Jackson will present "The Mills & Of Gypsies, Vesuvius, Elephants and Buffalo Bill" a 16 part series based on his book "If the River Could Talk, Stories of the White River in Madison County". This 16 part series is being touted as part of the America 250 Celebration.
Enjoy a scenic trail run through Mounds State Park, along the river and by the ancient Adena Indian Mounds. You can choose a 5MI run, 5K run, or a 5K walk. A children's fun run will meet at 1:20 PM by the pool house; the fun run will start at 1:30 PM.

If interested in joining the Lapel Community Association, meetings are usually the first Wednesday of the month at Lapel Stony Creek Fire Department. We are dark the months of December, January and February.
