If interested in joining the Lapel Community Association, meetings are usually the first Wednesday of the month at Lapel Stony Creek Fire Department. We are dark the months of December, January and February.

All are welcome to join Pendleton Christian Church for food and fellowship at the weekly community suppers in the church fellowship hall. Each week’s menu features something hot and delicious to fill your family’s stomach and good company that will fill your heart.

We are thrilled to invite you to our Breast Cancer Awareness Event on October 5th from 9 am to 12 pm at the Anderson Impact Center. This event is an opportunity for our community to come together and show support for those whose lives were affected by breast cancer.

The event will begin with a Breast Cancer Awareness Walk. We encourage you to invite others from your organization to join us in walking to demonstrate the importance of this cause.

If you want a long-sleeved awareness shirt, please submit your $20 payment by September 27th to the Minority Health Office.

After the walk, you'll have the chance to showcase your services and products to a diverse group of attendees and network with other like-minded individuals.

We will also host a brunch featuring Anderson's Highland High School Tennis Star, Ashlee Davis-Brooks, who will share her impactful story and journey in the fight against breast cancer.

During the brunch we will recognize Breast Cancer Survivors. Please share any breast cancer survivor photos of yourself or a loved one, as we want to honor you.

Town Submitted Special Event: Pendleton Pride is a community festival to celebrate and support the LGBTQ+ community in Pendleton and the surrounding areas. Food, merchandise, and community outreach vendors will participate.

Le'Andria Delores Johnson is an American gospel singer. She was the season three winner of the BET gospel singing competition show Sunday Best. Johnson's Sunday Best coronation song, "I Shall Leap into My Destiny", co-written by Johnson, entered the Billboard Gospel chart at number 1.

Bring your family & get FREE Warm Coats Saturday, October 12th at our 4th Annual Blue Bridge Project! Everyone is welcome & all coats are always absolutely FREE! We don’t ask any questions, and there is no paper work! There is never judgement, so please come & get coats for your family.
The event kicks off at 2PM! The Blue Bridge is the John F. Kennedy Bridge of Character (Blue walking bridge) you can access from the parking lot of the Madison County Div of Family Resources in Anderson, Indiana.
Volunteers will meet together at the Blue Bridge at 1PM! We need lots of volunteers to help our community get warm coats!

Participants will join restaurateur Teddi Mangas-Coon in the kitchen at Gallery 119 to learn to "Make Baklava like a Greek Yia Yia". Participants will bake a small pan of baklava using 60 layers of filo dough, walnuts, pecans, butter, sugar and honey. All supplies will be provided. While baking, bring a bag lunch to enjoy. Coffee and water will be provided. Cost is $30. Class is limited to 10 people.

Inaugural Gallery 119 Lunch and Learn Series.
Join restaurateur Teddi Mangas-Coon on (October 19th) (noon to 2) in the Gallery 119 kitchen to make your own pan of Greek Baklava! Perfect to freeze to share during the holidays!

Class is limited to 10 people and plan to go for 2 hours together.

The Second Annual Pendleton Home Tour invites you to explore the charm and beauty of some of Pendleton’s most remarkable homes. This year’s tour offers a unique opportunity for community members and visitors to step inside these architectural treasures, each with its own story and style. Join us for a delightful day of discovery as we celebrate Pendleton’s rich heritage, vibrant community, and the warmth of our local hospitality. Proceeds from the event will support Friends for Paws, making this a chance to admire stunning homes and give back to a worthy cause.

AN EVENING OF FRIGHTFULLY GOOD FUN
Come out to Harrah's Hoosier Park (4500 Dan Patch Cir, Anderson, IN 46013) at 5:45pm on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, for an evening of spooky fun and community celebration. Expect to run into some delightfully ghoulish guests as you munch hors d'oeuvres and creep your way through the silent auction to the dinner event, where we will celebrate the recipient of this year's Judge Brinkman Child Advocate Award.

Please arrive at Harrah's Hoosier Park's covered main entrance between 5:45-6:00pm to register with our Welcome Table team before the buffet dinner begins at 6:15pm. Be sure to bring your mobile device so you can register and bid in the silent auction. The silent auction will close by 8pm, with checkout immediately following.
For this festive event, costume attire is welcome but not required. We look forward to seeing you there for a spooktacular evening!

Mark your calendar! The State of South Madison County will be held on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, from 6:30-8:30 PM. Vanessa Green Sinders, President and CEO of the Indiana Chamber of Commerce, will be our featured speaker. Ms. Green Sinders will discuss the Indiana Chamber’s long-range economic development strategy for the state, Indiana Prosperity 2035 - A Vision for Economic Acceleration.
